Keyword Rich Or Catchy?
Selecting a good domain is pretty important because it’s going to be one of the first thing that buyers are looking for – a nice domain. There are two kind of domains that you can choose for a website either keyword rich domain or a nice catchy domain name.For VRE sites your looking for a keyword rich domain. Catchy domains should be used for info products, physical products and membership websites IMO. A lot of buyers are looking for domains that have keywords in because it makes it easier to get a ranking on the search engines for a keyword that is in your domain name.
I keep this process pretty simple because it is usually very easy to find a good domain. I just get my list of top keywords for the niche and copy them one at a time into the Namecheap.com domain search. Your ideally looking for a domain that fits the following criteria:
- Has less than 3 words. You don’t want your domain to be too long.
- Includes your top keywords
- You can have 1 dash in your domain, more and it will put buyers off
- Only buy .com, .org, .net domains
- The domain must be available
